the wrist type of monitors don’t tend to be very accurate, place it around your wrist with your hand up.

If it is of standard design, place the monitor unit on the inside of your wrist so that the readout is facing you. Then sit in a chair, with your elbow on a table and with the monitor at the same level as your heart. That will give you the most accurate reading. If the readings are still suspect then check batteries, or get the monitor serviced (or take yourself to your doctor!). Hope that helps.

we use wrist blood pressure monitors to check several of our patients daily. the doctors have advised having the person sit by the table, placing the montior on the underside of the wrist, placing the elbow on the table, and then laying the arm flat on the table.
dont know if thats the best position, but that is the one we’ve been using.

Can you look for your pulse in your wrist? it is somewhere below the thumb. try placing the indicated mark of the cuff there:)
