I have diabetic retinopathy as well as high blood pressure. I was blind for two weeks. Your eyesight will return in time. Be very diligent about your blood pressure. Consider this a lesson learned like I did. It took me longer (2 months total) to return because of the diabetes.

that’s called macular degeneration… you must keep on taking your meds or else.
i never got my eyesight back really… i went from going blind ( malignant hypertension vented itself through my eyes ) to blotches… so.. that’s an improvement…
i’m still blind as a bat.. but least it’s not DARK any more.
and there’s NO PAIN! which is a serious plus.
it takes some time… give it time and make sure to take your medication religiously and eat right.. cutting out dairy, processed foods and most other garbage will help considerably.
i went strict vegetarian after my episode…. my bp went from 290/225 to 120/70.
the swelling in my eyes.. and i was pretty bad… bloody cornias and bleeding retinas… my swelling took 4 months to calm… another 8 months before my eyes got good enough to see with to a point… and the sensitivity to the sun was tolerable.
glasses are to come within a year… make sure you see a retinal specialist while you are at it.. because now with the hypertension those retinas of yours are at risk.
keep tabs on everything… see the doc regularly and take good care of yourself and protect those eyes.
just keep tabs on the vision.. it may ease up a tad… it may just not but it’s stopped… or slowed considerably the deterioration of the eyes.
hypertension is serious business… as you well understand.. keep it at bay and start eating right.. relax more and get into aerobic or yoga type activities.
streching and keeping the blood flowing is essential. also keep that cholesterol way down and those triglycerides also.
those two things also hinder blood flow causing a rise in pressure.
dairy is a no no for hypertensive sufferers… junk food.. processed foods.. canned foods… salt… sugar…. insoluable proteins.. that you find in meats, candies…. soda…. so on.
get to know and enjoy those fresh fruits and veggies.. and if you want to drink your veggies DO NOT do v8 juice.. NO WAY! get a juicer and make your own..
think healthy and you won’t have to worry so much about hurting yourself or having chronic pain or worse from hypertension!
