it is auto matic that if you have diabetes mellitus ,you will going to have dyslipedamia, hypertention,so it is important to give a strict diabetic diet . low carbohydrates, low sodium, more on frruits and vegetables .

Something that might be helpful is a guide on the glycemic index. The key to eating with diabetes is maintaining a healthy blood sugar level. The glycemic index is a guide to how certain foods will effect your blood sugar. Some foods spike high and fast and crash (these are bad and will leave you feeling hungry). Other foods raise your blood sugar slowly and lower slowly (these foods will make you feel full longer and will keep your blood sugar at safer, healthly levels). I realize I haven’t listed off any foods, but I’m not an expert on the glycemic index. I would check out a book at the library or a local bookstore. After this, I would look at the sodium content in these foods to determine what would be best for your friend.
